I am creating a subdomain for server side. The client is based in the UK but am choosing France as the server location - does this sound ok? Its the closest.
Secondly, the domain name is gtm.womankind.org.uk - but I am not sure if to add CDN - can anyone advise? If I do, I would select own CDN.
Yes, the server location is fine, it’s not critical within Europe, it’s not long distances.
The best practice is to use your own CDN, firstly this will speed up the loading of gtm.js and gtag.js, but it will also allow you to bypass ITP (Safari) cookie restrictions. You can find more information about setting up own CDN here:
I checked today and the custom domain - gtm.womankind.org.uk is still not verified. Despite visible on the Google Toolbox website - can you advise please? Concerned now it wont be verified.
I see that you have chosen ‘Own CDN’ when adding a custom subdomain, but your CNAME record is not proxied. That is, you have not made the necessary settings specified in the article provided in the previous answer.
Please refer to the article and make the necessary settings.
Hi Alex, thank you. I working with a clients web company so I am not sure they 100% understand “proxied”. Is “Proxied” only for CloudFare or common across all DNS records?
