Stape website tracking checker can't find us

Hi there,

We have our website tracking up and running through serverside via Stape for over a year now. I periodically check our Stape Analytics and more recently the Stape website tracking checker too (Website Tracking Checker by Stape). Early December, that worked fine. But now, early January, the checker says: “Our scanner has not detected any analytics or marketing trackers known to us”.

GA4 still shows data, our web-GTM en server-GTM containers are working as expected (tested in preview mode) and Stape Analytics shows data of yesterday. So, what’s going wrong? A bug in the website tracking checker or something with our site https://www.alpenreizen.nl/ ?

The only tracking changes we’ve made between early December and today are consent mode related and in web-GTM only.

I checked it out, and it’s because the scanner can’t find your consent banner on the page → it can’t interact with it → your tracking doesn’t work because the consent status isn’t known → the scanner doesn’t see any trackers.

This sometimes happens with rare or custom consent banners. I have already added this to the list of improvements for the scanner.

Hi Alex, thanks for your reply! We have a custom consent banner indeed. So for now, there’s nothing we can do nor need to change?

Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s anything you can do except change the banner :slight_smile:
