Someone using our GA4 ID in their website

Hi,

We recently found that an external website is using our GA4 Measurement ID. They have connected our GA4 ID within their website. This is causing the population of data from that website on our GA4 account.

It’s also causing issues in our dynamic remarketing parameters.

How can we solve it?

Hi @Hridoy, the proper solution would be to contact the website’s owners and ask them to remove it.

A secondary approach would be:

  • create a new data stream (i.e., new GA4 Measurement ID)
  • replicate the old data stream configurations into this new one
  • change the ID on your tags
  • delete the old data stream (in the past, it would also delete the data associated with it, but this seems not to be the case anymore).

Thanks for your reply. We contacted the website’s owners, and they removed our GA4 ID from their website.
