Shopify Order Cancal Update

Hello Stape Team,

I hope you are doing well. I have one concern. If a user makes a purchase from Shopify and then cancels the order or return the order as well, how can we send this type of event to Meta Events Manager? If we set up this type of event and provide the signal in Meta Ads, we can exclude this type of audience. How can we pull this type of data from Shopify? Is there any way around this?

Waiting for response. Thank you

Hi,
You need to set up a webhook that triggers whenever an order’s status changes in your Shopify account, for example, when an order is cancelled or refunded.

The Stape app supports webhooks for refund events, and you can also configure this using Shopify Flow.

Once the webhook is configured, set up the corresponding server-side event in your sGTM container and use the incoming webhook as a trigger to send the event data to Meta Events Manager.

Hello Sir,

First of all, thank you for your reply. Could you please explain the Shopify Flow process for canceled orders? How can I check the workflow settings in Shopify, and what information do we need to configure it?

I look forward to your positive response.

Thank you.

Hi,
In Shopify Flow, create a workflow with a trigger for order cancellation or another event of your choice. When the trigger fires, a webhook will be sent containing all the necessary parameters for that order.
You need to specify an endpoint for the webhook, which will be your server-side GTM container. Based on the incoming webhook, create a tag in your server-side GTM container to send the corresponding event.
Open Shopify Flow and configure the workflow according to your requirements.

Hello Sir,

Thank you for your detailed reply. Yes, I have checked this type of workflow in Shopify. However, when I try to set up the webhook endpoint, Shopify shows that this functionality is not available on the Basic plan and that a higher plan is required. How we can then setup from automation tools to shopify thing. Where to add the webhook URL? In this case

Is there any workaround for this? Can we use automation tools such as Zapier or Make for this function? If so, how can we set up the workflow using these automation tools? Thank you

Hi,
Unfortunately, these Shopify Flow features are only available on certain pricing plans.

As for alternative tools, the Stape app supports the refund and order_created webhook, which can be configured directly through the app. However, it does not support any other webhook events.

As for tools like Zapier or Make, if they support the specific features you need, you may be able to set up this functionality using them. However, I’m afraid I can’t provide exact instructions on exactly what needs to be configured and how to do it.
