Pinterest Highlights 0 Revenue in GA4

Hey Everyone,

I am facing an issue with my Pinterest set up… Both the web and the server are set up for Pinterest, this includes all ecommerce events.

This has been running for a few weeks, and I can see revenue and the events in the backend of Pinterest.

So I can see that the set up is working, even when I am in server debug mode, I can see the pinterest tags firing with all events and parameters.

Just to add, I have added in the event IDs

But, when I look inside of GA4, I see that Pinterest has not contributed to any revenue? Now I have my client questioning the set up.

I have researched and researched on why this could be happening, but I have had no luck.

Does anyone have any ideas why nothing shows in GA4?

Purchase attribution to the source in GA4 and Pinterest works on different algorithms so it’s normal that it doesn’t match.

It’s quite likely that on the Pinterest side you have purchases via view-through attribution that GA4 can’t track in any way.

An alternative could be that when you make a purchase from you, for whatever reason, a new session could start for the user. That is, the session id changes between his landing and the purchase.
But in this case you should usually have many purchases with source Direct or some refferal (e.g. payment gateway).
Also if you have multiple Unassign sources with a purchase - this could also be the reason.
