How to track purchase from Meta Ads in Instagram chats?

Hello everyone!

We run ads in Meta for reach and messages on Instagram, and we sell products and place orders directly in Instagram chat. However, this does not give us 100% certainty that advertising is effective, because we can only evaluate it by basic indicators (CTR, CPM etc.), or the number of messages started. Has anyone had any experience with how to more accurately understand the effectiveness of this advertising? Track which campaign bring the purchase and transfer this data to Meta to do remarketing.

I’ve seen some people add a separate column for Chat Purchases to their Ad Account and somehow track purchases from such chat ads and give them back to the account, linking them to a specific campaign. I can’t figure out how.

This is possible if you use any CRM where leads from Meta get to.
In this case, when a lead is converted, you can send data back to Meta about the conversion.
You can do this by sending a webhook from your CRM to the sGTM container, based on the webhook data generate a conversion event for Meta. Here is an article that describes it in general:

If you don’t use CRM or the leads from Meta don’t go there I don’t think there is any other way to do it.
