How to monitor stape sGTM templates changes

We used the Stape Google Data manager sGTM template, something changed in Google or Stape and data flow stopped. When we found out, we noticed that the Stape provided template changed, when we updated it, the flow was restored.

My questions:
1
We are the paying client, and I am subscribed to community forum news, which I read, still I did not catch any notification about the critical template change, so what is the best way to be notified about such important updates to prevent measurement outage?

2
What is your recommended way to be alerted (e.g. via email) about GDM flow outages?

hi @ludoja the latest changes introduced into the templates have to do with validation of input data, so I wouldn’t call them “critical” and justifying a notification.

The easiest way to get a notification presently, would be to subscribe to a corresponding repository updates on our github:

That being said, thanks for bringing this up - I will explore if we can perhaps introduce better ways to keep the community informed.

Thank you. The template we were using stopped sending data (it was few weeks ago) so it was critical if we are not in testing phase.

I guess you should bring the topic of subscription to the templates repos changes in the introductory onboarding emails and state it in bold letters everywhere where user comes in touch for the first time with your templates.

The idea that template may stop working does not always come to mind when one installs it.
