How to Ensure User Tracking Across Subdomains

Hello

I’m setting up server-side tracking with Stape GTM for WooCommerce on my main domain (mydomain). However, my users first land on a subdomain (form.mydomain) where they complete a quiz before being redirected to my main website to product page, add to cart, and purchase.

I want to ensure Facebook CAPI maintains user tracking between form.mydomain.com and mydomain.com, so that events like CompleteRegistration (on form.mydomain, a custom event I created) are linked to AddToCart, InitiateCheckout, and Purchase (on mydomain, generated by the wordpress gtm plugin).

How to do this and avoid problems? What is your advice?

  1. I don’t know which service to choose for my Woocommerce project.GTM Hosting, Signals Gateway or Dedicated Gateway? (Newbie here)

Thanks

_fbc cookie (dropped when user come from FB ads) are stored at the root domain level (.mydomain.com) and it makes accessible across subdomains. But make sure you are initializing same Facebook pixel on both of you subdomains. Then you are good to go.

In my opinion, set up your Facebook CAPI through your GTM. It will give you more flexibility for conversion tracking.
