Google & Youtube + Facebook & Instagram + Stape IO Tracking

I have a shopify store for which I setup stape io tracking - the tracking works and everything is perfect.

However, they have Google & Youtube app and Facebook & Instagram which connects their merchant account to google and catalog to facebook but also triggers events on the store.

Is there a way to turn off events on these apps and just keep the connection of the merchant store for google and catalog for facebook so they continue to be synced but I only trigger events from stape io?

Here’s also a loom video for reference for anyone who wants to help:

Thank you

Yes! You can disable event tracking from Shopify’s Google & YouTube and Facebook & Instagram* apps and at the same time you can keep the merchant account and product catalog synced.

Here’s how you can do it:

  1. For Facebook & Instagram App:
    Go to Shopify Admin and click on Facebook & Instagram app. In the settings tab, find the ‘Data Sharing’ section. Now turn off the Data Sharing option. This will stop Facebook Pixel tracking from your Shopify and your FB SST will run.

  2. For Google & YouTube App:
    Go to Shopify Admin and click on Google & YouTube app. Then go to the ‘Settings’ tab and find the ‘Google Ads conversion tracking’ option. Disable Google Ads tracking.

Since you’ve already set up Stape.io for server-side tracking, you should now have full control over event triggers without duplication from Shopify’s built-in integrations.

In some apps you can’t disable sending events, I only remember about Pinterest but maybe there are more of those.
In that case, I recommend using any third-party application to sync directories. There are quite a few of them for all tastes: Search results for "product feed" – Ecommerce Plugins for Online Stores – Shopify App Store

@Alex thank you bro.
