I get an notification inside Google Ads > Data Management that my Google Tag is not sending information anymore.
How do I get rid of this error?
And is the error not something to worry about? I think it’s because I switched to a server side setup, its my old google tag when my setup was client side.
If you have moved your Google Ads tracking to the server and removed the web conversion tags and still have the Google tag AW – ******* initialisation from gtm, then this is the expected behaviour, as conversions are now sent to Google Ads from the server from the GA4 /collect hit and are no longer sent from the web.
The problem was that the conversion source was linked to the old Google tag, which triggered a notification in the Google Ads interface.
As a solution, you can try changing the source in the conversion goal.
If that option isn’t available, you can create a new secondary conversion goal and run them in parallel.
Over time, if no issues arise with the new conversion goal, make it the primary one and archive the old one so you don’t lose historical data.
If the conversion is working correctly and the notification is not causing any issues, you can simply ignore it.
