Google Ads Enhanced Conversion and Cart Data Low Rate

Hi everyone,

We have been running Google Ads server-side tracking for a long time using the Stape Shopify App, Stape.io, and Google Tag Manager.

We have all our variables correct to send the enhanced conversions and cart (items) data from sGTM to Google Ads.

We sometimes see a drop in the cart coverage data. The issue appears sometimes and then disappears automatically, and cart data reaches to 100% again.

Recently, we have been seeing a low-coverage trend in enhanced conversions that we have never faced before.

What could the issue be? Is it an issue of Stape Shopify app or Google Ads?

We accept various payment methods, including ShopPay, PayPal, Google Pay, Credit Card, and Zip.

Thanks.

Hello @Hridoy,
As for your case, the issue can be related to how data is captured across different Shopify checkout flows. We recommend looking for specific alerts like “Mismatched product IDs” or “Missing cost of goods sold”. If you see these, the issue is likely a data formatting mismatch rather than an app failure. Also, please perform test transactions while in sGTM Preview mode. Check if the user_data and items array are actually reaching the server container for these specific payment methods. Ensure your custom variable for the Item ID exactly matches your GMC feed. If your feed uses SKU but your tag sends Product ID, coverage will never be 100%.

If you are unable to resolve the issue, you can always contact the support team by sending a support request at Stape
Be sure to include the following in your request to help us investigate:

  • Screenshots of your sGTM Preview mode during a test transaction with one of the affected payment methods.
  • Your Container ID on Stape.
  • A confirmation of whether the Product IDs in your GTM tags exactly match those in your Google Merchant Center feed.
