Datalayer not loading

Server-Side Tagging for Shopify

Hi,

For happyduvet.co.uk I have setup Stape, installed the Shopify app and followed all instructions as mentioned in How to use the stape app for setting up Shopify server-side tagging. The datalayer events are loading and I don’t see the GTM container loading. What could be wrong? Is there any way how I can debug?

Hey,

How do you check that the container is not loading?
Also, are you using the Stape plugin? Is it active in your embedded apps? (online store - theme - customise)

The stape plugin wasn’t activated indeed in the embedded apps indeed! Thanks a lot. Didn’t know that this was a requirement.

Hi Alex,

I ran into another issue. I don’t receive GA4 client events in the checkout. I do on other website pages and on the purchase page (no checkout extensibility yet). The weird thing is that data client events are coming through. Do you have any idea what can be the reason for this?

Do you mean in preview? If so - that’s expected behaviour and pretty much has to do with checkout extensibility specifics. Data Tag just overcomes those :slight_smile:
