custom loader & multi-domain setup

Hello Stape team,

I’m working on a setup with one main domain and two subdomains:
https://e-visa.org/
https://ave-canada.e-visa.org/
https://eta-uk-royaume-uni.e-visa.org/

Each site has its own GTM Web container.
We are planning to install a single server-side container on Stape with the custom domain:

:backhand_index_pointing_right: sst.e-visa.org

I’d like to confirm a few points:
1. Is one tagging server domain (sst.e-visa.org) sufficient for all three sites, even if each one has its own GTM Web ID?
2. Since there are 3 separate GTM Web containers, do we need to generate 3 different custom loaders (one for each GTM Web ID), or can a single loader be reused?
3. In this case (main domain + subdomains), do we need to use the Multi-domains Power-Up, or is it only required if we had completely different root domains?

Thanks a lot for your clarification :folded_hands:

Hello Samuel,

  1. One custom domain, sst.e-visa.org, will suffice for all three websites, as you have one top-level domain.

However, I do not recommend using ‘sst’ and would suggest selecting something random that does not indicate a server-side tracking pattern.

  1. Yes, you will need to generate a custom loader code for each of the sites specifying exactly their Web GTM ID before generating a new custom loader code.

  2. No, in this case you will not need to activate the multi-domain power-up. Since you are adding only one custom domain to the container.

Hello and thank you for your answer @Dmytro
Really appreciate :folded_hands:
It’s clear for me now

I was near to setup only one GTM web container for all, but your solution might be more consistent
