Consent Mode V2 Google Tags - Server Side

Hello!

I have implemented Consent Mode V2 and configured the Google tag in the web container to 'no additional consent needed for the advanced consent mode. (Following blog instructions)

”Tags with built-in consent checks automatically adjust tags’ behavior based on user choice. Note that, for example, GA4 will still send anonymized pings even if the user did not consent to analytics cookies. To enable advanced consent configuration in GA4, go to the web GTM and update Consent Settings to “No additional consent required”. No configuration is needed in sGTM.”

I’ve noticed that the conversion linker, remarketing, and Google conversion tags still fire even when consent is not granted, though the HTTP request shows gcs=G100.

Is this set up enough for these google tags, or should I take additional steps to prevent these tags from firing when consent is not given?

When using Google consent mode, Google tags continue to be triggered even when there is no consent. They send cookie-less pings so that consent modelling can work:
